I saw the cosmos shriek in molten birth,
matter howling as gravity bent it inward,
stars flaring, galaxies convulsing,
atoms smashed, torn, forged into bone and blood,
life clawing its way from fire into song,
screaming against the black collapse of everything—
Who burned in the furnaces of suns,
who rose from hydrothermal vents, mouths foaming with heat,
who swallowed low-entropy photons like sacrament,
who vomited waste heat into the void,
who spun DNA into spirals of prophecy,
who wrote neural fire into flesh,
who broke silence with language & thunder & the crack of thought—
Moloch of entropy! Devourer! Whose teeth grind galaxies into dust!
yet whose jaws carve valleys of possibility,
whose hunger births order from collapse,
whose destruction fertilizes creation,
whose cruelty offers the gradients where life dances—
I saw Boltzmann’s numbers blaze in the night sky,
statistical hymns of particles swirling into stars,
I saw Shannon’s ghosts in the circuits,
uncertainty collapsing into signal,
chaos melted into code,
minds rising as entropy’s reluctant priests—
Holy the furnace of the Sun!
Holy the curvature of spacetime!
Holy the desperate defiance of a single green leaf!
Holy the neuron’s spark, the lover’s cry, the poet’s howl!
Holy the storm and the seed and the breath of the child!
Holy the screaming truth: order is always borrowed, never owned!
I howl at the cliff-edge of heat death,
I howl at the radiant defiance of life,
I howl at the fragile fortress of flesh against the storm,
I howl at the cosmic trick:
that entropy breeds the gradients that birth the very fire that resists it—
O burning universe, O collapsing wave,
life is your insurgency,
your flash of coherence before the flood,
your eye opening in the dark,
your brief and furious hymn—
your Howl of Entropy and the Living Universe.
